ABOUT
Chelsea Kendrick LCSW
The foundation of counseling lies in the therapeutic relationship. I provide a safe space free of judgment for you to share your story. My therapeutic approach is strengths-based and healing-centered. I'm certified in EMDR and Somatic Trauma Therapy and trained in trauma-informed yoga, parts work, attachment theory, polyvagal theory, mindfulness, and ecopsychology. I will work with you to better understand past events and discover inner strengths so you can become an agent of change in your own life and foster greater emotional, cognitive, and relational well-being.
We will work collaboratively to develop the nervous system capacity and resilience needed to overcome challenging situations and to more fully enjoy moments of calm, fun, connectedness, presence, and joy.
You are the expert on your own experience and inherent internal wisdom. I can help you clarify and develop more self-trust by listening to your body, mind, and nervous system to develop a deep sense of self-respect and inner safety.
I apply a social justice lens to my work with individuals. Social, environmental, cultural, and historical contexts impact and shape each person's lived experience along with biological and psychological factors. By acknowledging this holistic experience it is possible to address barriers, identify unique strengths, and create meaningful change. I engage in ongoing personal work to develop a deeper understanding of my own heritage, privilege, and biases so that I can remain authentically curious and present for your unique story.
