What areas do you specialize in?
I specialize in healing-centered approaches including Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic therapy, Experiential Therapy, and Ecotherapy. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Integrated Somatic Trauma therapy.
What's your approach to therapy?
I work with individuals who are feeling disconnected from themselves, their bodies, their communities, loved ones, and/or the natural world. Trauma, attachment wounds, and chronic stress are often the root of fear, disconnection, depression, and anxiety. Learning to reconnect safely is the path to healing and transformation. I use an integrated approach to therapy, predominantly drawing from Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Somatic trauma therapies, and Nature-based/Ecotherapy.
What do you do for nature-based therapy during winter or when the weather is bad?
Between October and May we will meet virtually using a secure video telehealth option. This allows us to avoid driving in treacherous winter weather. There may be opportunities to meet outdoors if the weather and conditions allow. From May to October, we may decide to walk in the rain if it's not too heavy or switch to a Telehealth appointment occasionally as needed.
Can I schedule an initial consultation to see if your practice is a good fit?
Yes! Please email me if you would like to schedule a free 20 minute consultation. ChelseaKendrickLCSW@gmail.com
